Centenary Square gets all festive at Christmas so join us there for a seasonal evening version of our city walking tour.

We’ll be heading to the Roundhouse via artworks and architecture, through a space that’s forever changing. Our guides will share histories as varied as Birmingham burials, groundbreaking theatre, suffragette action, and plenty of Birmingham firsts along the way.

Our guides our presenting the city that they love, so prepare to find out some lesser-known stories, and some essential Brummie knowledge; take part in a few activities and take part in a bit of friendly debate.

This walking tour features Centenary Square, via Broad Street, and a short canal-side walk before we arrive at the Roundhouse.

Please Note: Bring your own standard headphones to plug into our tour system.

Visitor Info

This guided tour is for pre-booking only.

This whole of this tour is at street level, with level surfaces and no steps until we arrive at the Roundhouse, where there is a sloped courtyard with an upwards incline to our Visitor Centre entrance.

Our tour guides use audio systems to ensure that they are audible in the busy city environment. If you have headphones with a standard mini jack input, bring them along to use, if not, we have disposables (although we like to limit using them, for obvious reasons).

The audio systems are compatible with hearing loops and our guides will have them to hand. If your whole group needs to use the audio loop, please let us know so we can prepare.

The importance of practical footwear.

Sturdy, comfy shoes are your friend. Especially by the time you arrive in our cobbled courtyard!

We’ll be in the great outdoors, even on our site tour. This means two things:
Here at Roundhouse Birmingham, we’re optimists.
It’s best to prepare for the weather which in the UK, often means sunglasses and a poncho.

Our guided tours and walks will go ahead whatever the weather so plan accordingly.

Meet us at the meeting point near the clock 10 minutes before the advertised start time.

Please provide proof of your eligibility for member concessions or discounts on arrival.

Venue: Centenary Square

Directions: In the centre of Centenary Square, next to the Commonwealth Games clock – look out for our volunteers and the yellow smiley logo.
