Our Green Spaces Walking Tour takes in some of Birmingham’s most picturesque places; exploring parts of Birmingham’s colossal canal network, the beautiful and picturesque Edgbaston Reservoir and uncovering some of Birmingham’s hidden green-space secrets.
These guided tours will focus on the history and heritage of places on the route using our tour guide systems. You’ll discover new things about buildings and places that many people don’t notice on a day-to-day basis.
The tour will operate three different routes that will rotate on a tri-weekly basis – check booking details for specific dates for each route, with all tours starting at 10am.
Soho Loop Walk
A canal walk from the Roundhouse, around the Soho Loop, making a stop at the historical All Saints Park before returning to the Roundhouse. This route will focus on the historical impact of the Soho Loop on industrial Birmingham.
Edgbaston Reservoir Walk
A green walk exploring some of Birmingham’s historical parks before exploring the Edgbaston Reservoir, taking in its beauty and learning its origins.
Harborne Walkway Walk
A summer stroll down the Harborne Walkway, uncovering the vital role it played in Birmingham’s population growth. Discovering how a once busy passenger and freight line with up to 30 trains each way every day is now a green haven for both wildlife and people.
Each route will start and finish at the Roundhouse and will take approximately 2 hours.
