This original site-specific performance responds to the Roundhouse, exploring its history, use and architecture.

Through a residency in partnership with Roundhouse Birmingham, University of Birmingham Drama and Theatre Arts performers will devise and perform an original piece, including horseshoes, stone-breaking and hard work!
TACK AND TOIL will be performed for one weekend only. Audience capacity is limited, so book now to be able to experience this unique performance!
The performance will be largely outdoors, and involve plenty of movement around the site. Our Victorian cobbles can be a little uneven and steep in places, so sturdy, sensible shoes are your friend. The performance was also go ahead, no matter the weather, so please be prepared for glorious sunshine and pouring rain!

Directions: Please check in at the Roundhouse Visitor Centre 10 minutes before the tour starts.
We recommend that on our tours, under 14s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, with a ticket. We suggest our tours are for 10+ years.
Our Victorian cobbles can be a little uneven and steep in places, and most Roundhouse Birmingham experiences will involve some walking. Sturdy, sensible shoes are your friend.
The tour will involve plenty of movement around the site.
Most Roundhouse experiences will take you out into the great outdoors, even a tour at the Roundhouse.
This means two things:
Our tour guides will use a headset microphone to make sure that everyone can hear them clearly. If you have headphones with a standard mini jack input, bring them along to use, if not, we have disposables (although we like to limit using them, for obvious reasons).
The audio systems are compatible with hearing loops and our guides will have them to hand. If your whole group needs to use the audio loop, please let us know so we can prepare.
Guided tours will go ahead whatever the weather.
Make sure to come along and check in at our reception least 10 minutes prior to the tour to make sure we’re ready to start on time!
