Exhibition | Wander Water
A collective called The Company have led an all-female artistic response to the female experience of walking local canals; providing the opportunity to change perceptions and increase footfall along Birmingham’s canals, while promoting health and wellbeing. The team includes Harmeet Chagger-Khan, Bethany Kay Hopkins, Claire Witcomb, Ming De Nasty and Chanelle Harris.
The result is eight brand new sculptures designed and created by Claire Witcomb with galvanised steel and mosaic, which will be on display from 3 September in the courtyard at the Roundhouse.
The sculptures will eventually form a trail along the canals in Perry Barr early next year, but coinciding in Birmingham Heritage Week they will be presented for the first time at the Roundhouse.
Drop into the Roundhouse, find the sculptures, and scan the QR codes to find more information about this new range of artworks.
Wander Water is a Gallery 37 commission brought to you by Punch Records, Saathi House and Canal & River Trust.
