Description

Looking for a free and fun family activity? Drop into the Roundhouse for some free, heritage themed craft activities during Birmingham Heritage Week!

Contribute to our Roundhouse Collage. Add your Roundhouse themed artwork to our community collage and see your work displayed in our Visitor Centre. Have YOUR creativity included in a brand-new community focused interpretation of the Roundhouse.

Build a mini Roundhouse. Make a colourful mini model of the Roundhouse, layer by layer.

Make a canal boat. The Roundhouse is right next to the canal and was a great delivery spot for narrow boats. Come and cut out, colour in and decorate your own model canal boat.

Paint a Roundhouse. We have mini-Roundhouse plaster models and we want to see how you’ll decorate your very own Roundhouse. Paint it and take it away.

Drawing and colouring in. We have a lot of pens and some heritage themed colouring in, for grown ups (and little ones too).

Local Look Around Family Friendly Trial. Included with each craft is a family trail! Search for things at the Roundhouse, the canals for histories, sights, and smells. When you’ve finished the trail, head back to the Roundhouse. Get your trail sheet stamped with a smile and claim your prize! Ask a member of the team for a trial.

Please note that these sessions will take place in either the Roundhouse Event Space or our Visitor Centre from Friday 6th – Sunday 8th September, and Wednesday 11th – Sunday 15th September. The Roundhouse Visitor Centre is closed Monday 9th – Tuesday 10th September.

Why not make a day of it. Bring a picnic and sit in our beautiful courtyard, then explore our visitor centre or go on one of our tours!

These craft activities are free but if you’re able, we accept contactless or cash donations on a pay-as-you-feel basis in our Visitor Centre.
