Description
Join us as we combine three of our favourite things – paddling, pizza and beer!
Looking for something different to do in Birmingham with friends? Why not see the city from a duck’s view in one of our kayaks, and then reward your hard efforts with a pizza and beer?
Our 1-hour kayak tour takes you into the heart of the British canal network, starting along the route of James Brindley’s first canal into Birmingham. We’ll give you several snapshots into Birmingham’s heritage and plenty of opportunities to see the city’s greatest landmarks from a different view.
And then after you’ve used up a bit of energy….
We’ll head to our neighbours, The Distillery, and choose from one of their 6 amazing pizzas – vegan and gluten free options available too, and a pint of Amstel’s or a large soft drink – included in the price.
The pizza and a drink offer is only valid straight after the tour, on production of your tour ticket.
No previous experience or specialist clothing is required, our guides will get you kayaking in no time and cruising along the city’s blue highway.
We will be kayaking approximately 2-miles in total.
We will provide every participant with a buoyancy aid, regardless of their swimming ability, so that should you fall in you’ll be safe. Tours are led by a professionally qualified British Canoeing Instructor who will give full tuition. All kayaks, paddles and safety equipment are provided. Sit back, paddle and have fun!
This experience is for adults (over 18s) only.

Visitor Info
Guided tours will go ahead in all but the worst of weather. If we do need to cancel a tour due to high winds or thunderstorms we will reschedule at the earliest opportunity.
Make sure to come along and check in at our reception least 15 minutes prior to the tour to make sure we're ready to start on time!
What to wear:
It is best to wear gym-style clothing for kayaking because these won’t hold any water when wet; jeans, leather and wool are not ideal for kayaking.
Everyone must wear footwear; old trainers, crocs, flip flops are all great.
You will get a wet lower half, because our kayaks are sit on top kayaks, you are exposed to the drips from your paddles and splashes, and you may get a small puddle in your seat - we'd recommend wearing some waterproof trousers if you have them. We do have some waterproof trousers and jackets available.
There's a small chance you may fall in, we recommend bringing a towel and a change of clothes- just in case.
What to bring:
We have lockers available for your valuables and bags, however, we recommend that no valuables are brought to the Roundhouse. We strongly recommend that no phones, wallets, or sunglasses are taken on the water and not be held responsible for any loss incurred, please use the lockers provided.
Food/drink:
We've teamed up with the Distillery to bring you a great combo ticket - included in the ticket price is a pizza and a pint, this is for straight after the paddle- so perhaps bring something dry to put on so you don't sit in soggy clothes.
Vegan and Gluten free options are available for the pizzas, included drinks are either Amstels or a large soft drinks.
