Description

We’re excited to invite you to the Roundhouse for two creative Rose & Castle sessions with Kerri Williams, the Heritage Crafter! Kerri, our expert guide, is an artist and designer who teaches heritage skills. She will be there to guide you through every step of the way of making a Roses placemat.

Roses & Castles is the colourful canal folk art that was used to decorate working narrowboats in the 19th century and is a distinctive part of our canal network. The artwork and colour decorate everything from boat cabins to water cans and historically, it was art of the working canal boating families of the past.

For this year’s Birmingham Heritage Week, in partnership with the Canal & River Trust, we are holding two creative Rose & Castle art sessions. Join us on Sunday 8th September for a 3-hour creative session in either the morning from 10am or afternoon from 2pm. All equipment is provided.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or just looking to try something new, we promise it will be a fun and enjoyable experience. So come and join us for a day of creativity, relaxation, and inspiration! We can’t wait to see you there.

  • A 3-hour creative experience.
  • Expert knowledge from renowned artist, Kerri Williams.
  • All the equipment needed for your Rose & Castle masterpiece.
